.....I have been hearing this turn of phrase or figure of speech. I did my usual diligent research; 20 seconds on Google, and turned up The Free Dictionary by Farlex. Know it? Well, I dont either
And this is what it says:
"caught with your pants down in a situation that embarrasses you: My job was to get as much information as possible so that my boss would not be caught with her pants down.
Usage notes: often said about situations you are not prepared for".
So......I was rather happy when I used it in a conversation with someone, but instead of appreciation, the bullets began to zing past my fast reddening ears as if I was in a Taliban ambush!
I can only say I was caught with my pants well and truly down!!

Well, the question I wanted to ask was when was it that you were caught with your pants down?
I am sure that happens quite often in Dubai!
