Muslim Brotherhood calls for hand chopping of Mubarak Aug 08, 2011
As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise (Koran 5:38)

Prisons didn't exist for the author who wrote the Koran. That's why there is no punishment in the Koran that prescribes imprisonment, with the exception of one verse that says women found guilty of 'lewdness' are to be home confined for life:

If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four (reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or Allah ordain for them some (other) way. (4:15)

But certainly there is no concept in the Koran of prison systems or anything similar that exists in this day and age. It also appears most Muslim countries have swept life sentencing women to homes under their prayer rugs and do not bother to follow this bizarre ruling.

But it appears Muslims do still want to cut off hands as the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood is calling for Mubarak to have his hand chopped for the theft he committed during his rule, along with a death penalty....so, basically, the MB wants to cause some serious pain and suffering before Mubarak is executed.

I have to say, such pointless calls for cruel and unusual punishments are quite sadistic. For starters, none of the so-called reasons Muslim apologists give in favor of hand chopping can really be applied to someone who will be prompted executed after the hand chopping.

So, the push to inflict severe punishment is really nothing more than sadism by holy rollers with a religious axe to grind.

THE spokesman for Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, which portrays itself as a moderate Islamic movement, has called for execution and hand amputations if the Mubaraks are found guilty of murder and corruption.

"If a man has stolen millions of the state's money, the penalty is that I must cut off his hand," said Mahmoud Ghuzlan, a professor of biochemistry at Zagazig University. "There is no argument. These are God's words."...

Professor Ghuzlan said the penalty of amputation, mandated under sharia law, should apply to his sons Gamal -- the younger, who was being groomed as heir -- and Alaa, a businessman....

Professor Ghuzlan had no sympathy. Mr Mubarak should be hanged if convicted, although "beheading by the sword" would be more traditional, he said.

He sought to paint sharia as a merciful alternative to Egypt's current legal system, saying a thief who stole only to feed his family would not suffer amputation.

Despite his words, Muslim Brotherhood rule would evidently be harsh. Adulterers would be whipped, alcohol banned, men and women separated in university classes and pre-marital sex and same-sex relationships would be forbidden...

That's a fine example of what Egypt would be like of the Muslim Brotherhood got the upper hand. That's exactly the mentality the Brotherhood would take if they had the power to do so.

Sadistic?
How about these ones
2 weeks ago , an Iranian court ordered a man to have acid poured in his eyes for retribution.
Last year Saudi Arabia sentenced a man to have his spinal cord severed.
When polled, a majority of muslims are in favor of stoning, chopping hands and death for those who renonce islam. Of course al shafique will never boast these polls.
Religion of peace, huh?
