Anyone been inside? I went there today to look around. Weird place to build the thing, in the middle of the desert with zero around.. I guess when they finish all the projects by 2050 then it will be properly placed..

Kidding aside.. The pictures inside look amazing.. Surly there is some public swimming possible in this place?

I don't think you can. I've looked for some info and it appears to be a professional training complex only.

Profesional complex..? Yet the national team only swam twice in it.. In a rest of the world when you build a $1.5billion swim complex you wouldn't abandon it in the middle of the desert for the sand to take over.. :shock:

Its got my vote for Dubai's biggest white elephant award.
The location must have been decided by the same guy who put the 7's pitches in the middles of nowhere as well. Fools!

If they ever finish the whole sports city thing then it makes sense.. Otherwise I agree..

It's no-where-near sports city (which, yes would have made more sense). Actually sports city had planned a swimming arena but we may as well forget about that now.
