It's a personal thing DDS, some of them look really really nice. You just have to make sure the translations are correct - obviously. I also have friends who have tattoos in Arabic, Hebrew and Latin.

Only in my mid-twenties and I have nine tattoos, walked into a tattoo parlour at 15 and got my first one done, they didn't even asked for i.d. Regret getting 4 out of the 9 done but i just put it down to the stupidity of being a crowd following teenager.

Now on the tatoo thingy. I don't like them at all. Never saw a person with a tatoo (male or female) where I thoght "that looks nice/fab, etc.) - not once!

Like BM I wonder what they will look like when they are old...

I find the tatoos, or series of tatoos, that cover people's whole arms (to the wrist) quite disturbing.

I also find tatoos in woman's lower back a bit "trampy".

The other thing I find quite creepy are the guys with the "plug" earrings...again, my thought is: wait till they get older...

Boring. As I stated previously, the reason I have mine there is because a. I have virtually no feeling in my lower spine, so it didn't hurt and b. because I can't see it and c. it's in the middle of my body.

To be honest I've never heard to tattoos in that area referred to that way at all - must be a Chav thing.

Some 'sleeve' tattoos look really good, others look horrific. I'm trying to stop my boyf from covering one of his arms completely, but he's determined to do it

Not really. Why suffer the pain if you don't have to? It's in a place where it's only on show if I want it to be! I forget I have it most of the time.

They're my personal reasons and not for anyone else to judge - cheers.

Duh, of course it's painful as you're having a needle/s repeatedly going into the skin. But as I KEEP saying, I have limited feeling in my lower spine, so I don't have much sensation, hence why I fell asleep having it done. Plus women do have a much much higher tolerance pain threshold than men!

Hate them, to my knowledge only one member of my immediate family has a tattoo, a neice agonised for years over a 'tramp stamp' against the wishes of her parents she went ahead and bought one, which she regretted within the Month!
