ok so i was thinking of buying the ipad 2 for my business. Plan on using it for checking emails, it will be used in my office and than at home.

so was going to buy it before I came across Apple Service forum where there are 42 pages of WI-FI connectivity issues with IPAD!!!! Ok some might be true some might be people hired by the competition anyway is anyone in UAE on this forum using the Ipad 2? Did you or are you facing any wifi issues? especially when you use it at work and than you move into another place?

My cousin has an Ipad 2 for his 'work' and he hasn't had any issues with it so far.

works just fine with me

The only problem is the slowness of the internet in the UAE (no matter how much one pays)..I think Haiti has better internet speed and they just discovered computers the day before yesterday!

I think I am going to wait especially since Ipad3 is coming up! I think the wifi issues only occur when you move from one wifi area to another!

I too heard about the WiFi issues. It is true that the iPad 1 has better WiFi reception than iPad 2.

The difference is because of the antenna placement inside.

But the difference is not that much.

iPad2 has a processor twice as much faster that of iPad1. So I went for iPad2 even though there was an offer for iPad1.

When I tried it out at home, I found that the WiFi signal is weak at the farthest point from my WiFi Access point.

But I immediately realized that it was a shortcoming of my access point. It was a 5 years old router provided by etisalat.

I installed a latest WiFi router and I am connected any where at home.

In office I had no problem as the WiFi was very strong there.

I am connected on the move also as I use my mobile phone as a WiFi access point.

So don’t worry about connectivity. Go and buy an iPad2 ASAP. (If it is available. I heard still long waiting period is there.)

Crap! Ipad 2's are everywhere in Dubai, Plugins, Sharaf, Jackays etc.

Main ingredient missing from Ipad is Facetime that has been removed on UAE seriel number issues here.

Also cheaper in Dubai than USA retailing at around AED 2,100

Bought mine in USA and has FT app icon. On the ones in Dubai Mall no FT Icon and shops confirmed not included specuifically by Apple for UAE market.
