Well here's one for the books! Hmmmm how many of the words in here sound 'familiar' to expats here?

http://www.thenational.ae/lifestyle/tra ... ile-abroad

The bit I found most interesting, was where it states that house maids traveling with the family, should be paid in line with the minimum wage of the country they're traveling to.

How about expats respecting locals laws? Thats just a matter of showing respect to a country where you are a visitor.

You might like to take heed and show some respect for the locals. You are a guset in Dubai and would do well to remember it.

Thank you BM, but I have lived here a very long time and in other Muslim countries and I am well aware of what I can and cannot do. YOU however, are only ever a visitor, so YOU might want to heed your own words, seeing as during your last visit some of your antics were culturally inappropriate!

I've never had a problem in Dubai. You see I respect the locals. And what antics were they pray?

I hardly think you are the person to offer advice to anyone. You're a joke. And you are also a visitor. You are not a local, you live in some crumby rented cess pit somewhere. (Was that the term you used when you talked about your maid?)

BTW is there something the matter with your CAPSLOCK? It appears to be sticking.

It would be interesting to see how many locals are now going to avoid Europe, or at least those countries that have become tougher in their laws with regards to the veil. Mind you many go to places like Sri Lanka and Thailand.

No Bora, I was on my very best behaviour when i was with you. Chocs is talking about the time when I got young Mohammed the Torso up to my apartment and he posed semi naked for me at age 17.

No hang on! That's what she was imaginning again! She then discovered that she knew the man in the picture PERSONALLY no less!

It's just Chocs making a tw*t of herself on an internet forum.

Classic:

"And when you treat people, you have to not be arrogant, especially at the borders and at government buildings," he said. "Don't forget you are not in your country."

I actually find it amusing that once on the plane, lots of the abayas etc come off immediately.

LOL I guess it does BBR. But it's a nice article none the less and shows that the authorities have concerns about their citizens when they're abroad. Now if only other countries would take note and issue the same things!

Since when has the nation with the highest carbon footprint on the planet ever been worried about the environment?

Er and BM...once assumes you quaffed a bottle or two of Chardonnay whilst you were here by your own confession?

Show us here a copy of your alcohol license please.

Uh Oh? Don't have one?

I feel a good flogging coming on. I could sell tickets to that show!

As far as I know you don't need a liquor license when you are a visitor. But I think you are forgetting, I have a get out of jail free card

I'd like to be a fly on the wall when you get hauled up for disrespecting Sheikh Mohammed on an internet forum though, now that would be worth watching!
I'm in town next week, let's see if I need an alcohol license then. I'll ask Mohammed the Torso to ask Uncle Mohammed what he thinks.

Actually BM, under Federal Law - which was clarified in an article in The National in December, residents AND tourists require and alcohol license to consume alcohol!

All the info is here:

http://www.dubaifaqs.com/alcohol-licence.php

So YES you are breaking the law!

Well my BF boss trumps your mate! You can't get ANY higher in the UAE - so there!

Don't you DARE threaten people BM! You will mess with the wrong people sooner or later.

Maybe I'll send my local friend who actually still DOES work for the police to give you a personal escort when you arrive next week!

What's your BF boos?
And does he know you're shagging some German in Dubai when you aren't married?
And what's with the 'so there'? I haven't said that since I was 10.

Oooh I see you've changed your post and now you say I'm threatening you! Gosh! What was all that about me breaking the law and all that then?

You like to dish it out but you can't take it can you sweety? :D

Oh look how very DARE I?

Now who's threatening? Just as well I know you're all wind and p*ss.

BM, just get lost ok. You're not impressing anyone round here. You're a sad little woman, with nothing better to do than throw idle threats at people!

You are beyond pathetic.

All DK was doing was making a point, which you chose to ignore and I backed him up. Your silly little threats weren't necessary.

Just go away!
