I certainly dont know the answer to that profound question. From what I read on these forums, I see the pendulum of my beliefs swinging from one extreme to the other.
In trying to find an answer though, I came across a rather interesting program by the BBC Horizon series, which might shed some light on this, and the more deeper question of the struggle for supremacy between science and religion.
Is beleif in God here to stay?

That entire documentary is a discussion between creationism and the flawed darwinist theory which is being pushed on everybody as fact , The darwinian garbage is fundamentally based on "random changes" , Key word "Random".

If God wears a blue boiler suit and a yellow plastic construction hat and is carried to heaven and back in a dilapidated, non airconditioned, bus with bars on the windows to stop Him getting out...then the answer is obvious.

@Zubber: But 90% or more of the scientific community support evolution. Darwin comes out with lots of evidence in support of his theory.
It is difficult , indeed impossible ,to prove the existence of a god by any credible means, except theological discussion, at best a very doubtful excercise.
