Just a rant! Sorry it's not relevant to Dubai!
BM has been having trouble with her land line at home. I'm a BT Business customer. Having had my phones for a while I decided to invest in some new ones when it was obvious there was a problem. I went to Argos and purchased some Hi-Tech ones for £35.00 (I'm on a budget, more about that later).
The new purchase didn't solve the problem and I couldn't get a dialing tone.
BM plucked up courage to phone BT! Now if you've ever been a BT customer, you will understand the 'picked up courage' reference. Speaking to someone in India, who is obviously Indian, with the name of Geordie, can be slightly off putting!
But no! I spoke to some English bird! India is obviously pricing themselves out of the market and speaking to some chav in Leeds is more cost effective. She was actually very helpful and must be on bonus.
Anyways, said English bird advised BM that there appeared to be a fault on the line, BUT, if the engineers came and found that the fault appeared with BM's new equipment, there would be a charge of £149.00 PLUS VAT (20%!!) for the first hour! HOW MUCH???
Bloody hell! If I'm paying £149.00 plus VAT I want more than my line servicing!
Now to the budget bit! BM has been so busy at work lately that time has flown by and I hadn't booked flights for the Easter break in Dubai. I have a very bestest friend who works for BA that gets me a bit of a reduction on the price of flights. I had text her a couple of times and she hadn't replied! Very odd but I didn't spend that much time worrying about it. I caught up with her son on Facebook last night who confirmed I must have been texting the wrong number Anyways as soon as I made contact via the right number, my friend booked me some flights to Dubai at a cost of £596 per person!!!! Friggin hell!!! Thats with a bestest friend reduction! At least I may get an upgrade! I will recoup my costs in Champagne (sod the Chardonnay) The girls (Miss B plus one) can sit in economy, I've earned Business Class!
