Im an Aussie, want to polish my Arabic. Mar 01, 2011
Hi,

Im from Australia, and respects the norm and tradition of my country Australia, but willing t learn Arabic, I speak Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, Dutch and a bit of German and Arabic. Im married and have one baby or otherwise I would marry an Arabian girl. My name sounds muslim, but I would rather call me a Sufi, as Sufism(tasawwuf) in Islam made me respect all culture and religion, yet I have a abode of the faithfuls (mu'minun), which is a far beyond than the term 'muslim' (chapter: private chamber in the koran, as it said don't say that you are mumin(faithful), but rather say a 'muslim', as faith (iman) has not entered in your heart....

Thanks and G'day mate,

May God bless all,

Abdullah Al-Masud

Good day and salaam,

Abdullah Al-Masud

Flashback! That reminded me of the time a friend and I were once challenged to a race to drink a cold tinny, by a couple of Australians we met purely by chance one night in the Prince of Teck, a public house in Earls Court Road SW5, a favourite watering hole for antipodeans travelling through London, they won the first round by cleverly piercing the bottom of the can with a ballpoint pen then proceeded to suck out the contents of the can with no resistance after pulling the ring pull at the other end of the can, it was a humiliating 1st round defeat, the prize was a used ashtray we commandeered from the bar (The Ashes) we regained the Ashes in round 2, another bar game where we (the home team) knew the ‘rules’ and so the night went on, the Ashes moved around the pub as the teams grew in numbers and a really great night was had by all, one of those sporadic events you just couldn’t possibly organise.

Foster beer is not that popular here, though rest of the wrld know Aussie by Foster. I hav given up drinkin' n smokin' but I don't mind if some1 likes as it is here free, as extreme sufi poet Omar Khayyam was a pseudo drinker (in the sense that it is not prohibited in the hereafter), philosopher, astrologer... But drinkin' is in the heaven is permitted in major religions. Drink driving is not good. Thanks, mate. Enjoy .

I love cricket, my former country Bangladesh likes also cricket. But in Australia, it seems cricket is not the no. 1 sport, but NRL, so that made me less cricket fundamentalist and more unorthodox.

Oh, your in Australia. Thats OK, I don't blame you for not drinking the fosters down there, tastes like cat's piss.
BTW, I think you need to improve on the English/Australian before you tackle the Arabic.

True, my english is not good enough being as Aussie, the main reason here, Im jobless and my wife always watch over me if i was doing something else than only job-seeking. So, when I type, I should type quickly n quickly ...

-- Wed Mar 02, 2011 9:19 pm --

Im now in "JACK OF ALL TRADE MASTER OF NONE" situation as, Im a Security Officer, IT personnel, Customer Service man, and now I done a Texi course to become a TAXI DRIVER. My wife has enormous patience that she still cooks for me ... so that the last hope I don't give up.

If Im still jobless and sometimes I think I should go to KIWI land (NZ) , and certainly to Christchurch to find a job and living there. A horror place may give me hope to live up and not to give up. I love Christchurch. The name sounds so perfect ('kamal' in arabic). Holy Book says, The world is but a prison for the faithfuls. But a Sufi is ever smiling at life and always generous in giving....

You don't sound like any Australian I've come across. You don't drink and you're frightened of your wife? You sound like a Bangladeshi.

No, Bangladeshi women are not scaring but caring, scaring whn ppl not listen to them. Australians are too caring and may turn scaring whn their attention is not observed. But, I'll rather say it is on you how you make your partner.
Women are made as responsive and men expressive. But there is a balance. Whn earthquake strikes then there is response too, we call it the aftermath. Everything in the world is either positive or negative. Music has a high tone and a low tone, one follows the other, when it is not maintain- it is then not music but symphony of chaos...

I have a Guru (Murshid or Sheikh) , his name is Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927). Go to an American mureed web: www.wahiduddin.net

Do what? I love Ricky Ponting! Are you saying he's not Australian?
BTW can you write proper? I had trouble with 'ur cmnt'. I had to read that twice to grasp it. I was rather shocked initially.

Hey Ben, do I detect a little racial disharmony in your comment with your new found Bangladeshi-Australian pal? or am I mastaken again?

Mahmoud, I think our friend here will be safe from me telling him 'don't start' as long as he doesn't post offensive pictures on my 'BM Has A New Friend' topic. Don't take it personally Mahmoud! I wasn't offended when you said you felt sorry for my daughter!

No, not at all Dillon.
Sorry if you took offence almasud. It must be having a tough time for you at the moment and are a little insecure.
It wasn't a loaded question. Normally they won't let anyone into Australia without either sponsorship from an employee or a marriage certificate from a rock spider Australian male.
Given that you didn't get in thru marriage, and can't find a job (even though unempolyment rate is at a historic low), I was curious. You are obviously quite good at foreign languages which should get you a job in any Aust govt institution.

Although you are correct about Ricky ponting, just remember to respect your hosts and don't be mouthing off like that. Instead you should be at the nearest pub shouting your new found countrymen some of that cats piss that we love so much.

BM, I think we need a new start...
Just to make it clear, about "BM has a new Friend" it was to someone else picture, and I confess I shouldn't brought it up, but you know sometimes how it goes here, so sorry :)

About being sorry for Beth, it was a total misunderstanding, coz I really meant nothing rather than (lets say criticize, but not aggressive at all, about how you wanted to treat employees :D) and your respond was a shock to me, u know apple, gym, etcc.. sorry again

here, um not sorry at all as it was a consequence of the other 2, beside I was welcoming almasud :)

peace and new start...

Mahmoud, again, there is no need to apologise to me, but thank you anyway. As for the picture on my topic Mahmoud, I didn't like it but the 'don't start' was meant lightheartedly. You are free to post and say what you want here, i'm a big believer in free speech.
I think we are losing something in translation here Mahmoud, don't worry about me, you haven't offended me at all. You just carry on doing what you are doing. No problem here :D
