Professor Nick Bostrom, Director of the recently created Future of Humanity Committee at Oxford, seems to think so.
Professor Bostrom (a Swede), has put forward three scenarios in his paper, one of which, according to him, should be the truth: 1) Any human civilization at our stage of development destroys itself.
2) Any advanced civilization (Post-human civilization) never thinks of creating a simulation of its past.
3) Our Universe, and the life on it is almost certainly a Computer ancestor simulation.
It is quite obvious that 1) and 2) are false, and so 3) must be true!
This is an amazing conclusion, and can have far-reaching consequences. It follows from recent scientific discoveries that the sub-atomic world of atoms, electrons, neutrons etc. has no solid structure, but are just whirling, vibrating energy fields. This is exactly what Virtual Reality is!
So, god is really a nerdy teenager!
I always thought so too. How else do you explain all the pain and destruction?

Let me reel out my favourite creation theory that can't be disproved:

"We were all created 5 minutes ago with ready-made memories."

We're all just living in the Matrix. The movies are actually a documentary cleverly disguised as blockbuster films!

^^Perhaps that was the inspiration for Bostrom's research. Life imitates art.
