Hello,

I am attempting to start a *New* softball team in the Dubai Softball League.
I STILL need more players and a CORPORATE SPONSOR
The league plays on Saturday nights between 7- 10:30 PM (Usually 2- 1 hour games)
The games are played at the Dubai Softball Field next to the Metropolitan Hotel off of Sheikh Zayed Rd.

While experience would obviously be preferred, inexperience players are welcome to come out (Baseball/ softball is a great game to learn to play).

If you are an experience cricket player, then softball will be an easy transition for you. The rules are simple and you can be learn rather quickly.

It isn't really soft at all. Its about twice the size of a regular size baseball.

There is a 16 inch size ball (which we call in New Orleans, Cabbage ball) which is soft. In fact, you do not wear gloves. In the version I am advertising above a glove is a necessity.

I always wondered if that diamond was every used. Seems the groundsman keeps it pretty tidy. Never seen anyone play in it though, but then again I've never crossed it on a weekend. I don't think many people even know there is a diamond here in dubai.

EDIT : I use to play it in school, always found it very easy. Specially after cricket, with a hard as fark ball comming at you at a billion miles per hour and then you need to angle it towards a certain direction if you want to score some runs. Soft ball just whack the monstrosity anywhere and run like hell.

LOL, yeah, Bush league softball is a hitting man's game. Especially if you playing with a bunch of Babe Ruth wannabees.

Let me know if you get the urge to "whack a monstrosity."

Right now the only thing I can qualify for is my belly to be the pitchers mound !
