I want to be where shaf... Jan 16, 2011
's avatar is. It looks nice and what I need. A white sandy beach and a palm tree. Just give me an infidel cocktail (or 19) and I will be happy. Hook a honkey up, Shaf!

Come on down - that's a real place and about 20 min drive away, and there are many beaches like that around. (Don't spend as much time as I would like there though - and you may not get totally deserted beaches, unless you know where and when to go).

Because of our geography, you can't be more than 5 miles away from the sea (apparently) - Mauritius is about 60 miles by 40 miles, IIRC.

Cheers,
Shafique

But I'm totally happy with where I am right now! There is light snow in Tehran from yesterday, all streets, cars, trees, buildings are white. It looks so nice and peaceful!

I can see behind the window, have tea,watching snow in the light of the street lamp...it is so pretty! :coffee2:

You better be careful what you offer, Shaf. Mrs. DD and I are well due for a holiday. Is that REALLY a real place? I have not left here in years and need a break. We were thinking Thailand, but ope to new horizons.

I miss the snow, Mel. However, Mrs. DD looks better in a bikini than a snowsuit. Although, Tehran is one of those places we will never visit unless we do it while we live here.

True, well Iran can be more of an adventure and sightseeing. If you ever plan to visit, let me know in advance, I will give you the necessary info. :wink:

Mel that sounds lovely! Isn't it amazing how the snow falling can make everything seem so peaceful? That was just like England before Christmas. Now we just have wind and 4 inches of rain in 24 hours.
I can never get my head round snow in the middle east!

@DD, it wasn't that long ago you were wanting to frolic with Mrs DD in the snow and now you are wishing her into a bikini! It just shows that the grass is always greener DD!

@DDS no, not sorted yet!

@4GMN..Mrs. DD in a bikini is fine by be anytime. We have no winter clothes, so I cannot imagine her frolicking in Tehran's snow in Infidel wear would go over well.

DD, when - and I mean WHEN - you get your settlement go all out and spend a week at the One and Only, Maldives. It will be your reward to yourself for all the cr@p you and Mrs DD have been through. First class all the way and you won't regret it. Plenty of privacy as there are trees in between the villas - you need to get one with an infinity pool!!!! It was the absolute best holiday hubby and I had and we plan to go back. Expensive, but definitely worth it in so many ways.

Bora, I second that wholeheartedly, the Maldives is one of the nicest places I've been to. The people that ran our island were fantastic. I was there when Princess Diana was killed, they gave up the one and only TV on the island so we British could watch what was unfolding in the Uk and the funeral. We were treated like royalty when they obviously had very little. Fantastic place and fantastic people.
