I need some help... Jan 07, 2011
No, not that kind; there are plenty of candidates for it here.

Here is my dilemma...my mother has kept a recording of my first musical recital - from some years now - of which she is quite proud. I just borrowed the CD and uploaded it to my ipod. Now the trouble is that the CD has been destroyed (long story) and mum "wants it back". Here is where I need help; how do i transfer the music from my ipod to a CD.

It may be easier for you but it is not for me - but if you have problems with language, math or music - I am a recognized progidy in each  so I'll pay you back.

p.s. take your time as won't see mum for about 6 weeks (don't even know where she is  )

p.s. again, I need "idiot proof" instructions...

You need to get the recording from the ipod to your a pc (assuming it has a cd burner)
It should be there already if your ipod is sync'd with the pc.
Windows Media Player can convert this file to CD format ('Create CD') and burn it to a CD.
I am not familiar with Apple Quicktime if you have a Mac instead.

Thats the basic idea.
Need to know if you have a PC or a Mac and if you know where the file is on your computer before giving a detailed procedure.

Ambassador, surely you must have uploaded the CD to your ipod thro' a computer, may be thro' itunes? I can't think of any other way you could have done it. Therefore you must have the track on your computer. Go back to itunes and put a blank CD in your computer and burn the track/s on to the CD.

Sorry benwj, I didn't see your post when I made mine,I think we are saying the same thing basically.

What BM said is right, but I guess you had lost your itunes. if so, there is a way, connect your ipod to the pc, open the itunes, but b careful not sync your ipod with itunes, becasue as you might know that way you will lose it all.

Go to "Devices" section in the left hand of the page, click on your ipod's name. In the page which appears there is a option named "Enable disk use". check that option. This way your ipod will work as a flash memory.
Now you can restore your information. But they might be in hidden folders. And thye will be very disorganized, you have to find your music among lots of other stuff.
