Tomorrow afternoon, when I get up, I am really, really going to start my Christmas shopping. If not, then the day after that. Promise.

As soon as my freshly painted nails dry I'll be wrapping all of ours.

I forgot about the wrapping part! That means I have to hit the mall again! 45 minutes to park at MOE today! Got so mad, I just left. Will go tomorrow, likely. I have lots of bubble wrap from the missile launcher shipment, maybe I can just wrap in that?

Since I left Canada, i haven't celebrated either. 1st year I was alone here and knew no one (so made a trip to Barracuda instead). 2nd year had all my family here, so had a big dinner (but no presents, tree, Santa or Jesus), last year was solo as Mrs. DD was back home and I was working (and sick). This year I actually shocked Mrs. DD and got a tree and decorations and with the recent windfall, will be getting the Mrs. something special. Also having a brunch with friends new and old, then bringing them back to mine for infidel juice and nibblies.

The part I am looking forward to the most is that a couple that I just met last night will be joining us (thru a mutual friend) that know nobody in town and would have been home alone. It will be awesome to show them a good time and a pleasure to introduce them to our friends. They have heard the DXB horror stories, so will be good for them to see that above all else, friends look after each other in this town.

Awwwww, DD, that is so sweet of you. Having spent your first Xmas in a bottle, or was that with a bottle, you know how horrible it can be. I hope that over time they don't forget your kindness. That tends to be something people do after they are in Dubai for a while.

Since you came into that windfall, I can be your personal shopper!!!! Just give me the fluos and I'll make it happen!!! Oh, wait, I don't do malls. Sorry.

I think the best thing you and Mrs DD can celebrate is how the two of you got through so much Dubai crap - together. I imagine she is one h.e.ll of a woman!!

A very merry Christmas to both of you!!! And keep the noise down, you don't want the LL to get any complaints. I don't think LL would be happy unless, of course, LL was there to celebrate as well.

haha Dubaidawg, spending a holiday away from loved ones is indeed difficult , and the ones who go through such experiences are truly the STRONG. Only the weak men sit and cry over it , heh,

DD, you are showing a very nice streak in taking your new found friends in for Christmas. It is nice to know there are still decent people around. It does give you a feel good feeling to know you have helped someone out when they are far away from home. I hope you enjoy your day.
