finally I am in dubai and found accomadation in KARAMA from the 15th of march.Thanks guys for all the info thats loaded in the site it was really helpful to get a real feel for the country.

Accomadation can be tricky what is advertised as a studio can be some times only be a large room.Sharing kitchens are tricky some times if the other person does not clean his mess after cooking.What you pay is what you get.
Other than for that this is a great country.As for your question I have been to dubai earlier still it was what I had in mind and what I saw was so different construction and shopping malls are coming up all overthe place litterally owenight.
Getting a bank account opened as soon as you come might be a bit dificult if you come on a visit visa so to it that your employer arranges your work permit ASAP.
When you get to town invest some money on a book called red tape of dubai.This book gives a step by step introduction about visa, driving license, health card,education etc,
