Is it more suitable to open a bank account in the UK before i move to Dubai?

Is it ok to transfer my wages back to a UK bank account as i have direct debits here i must honour.

Obviously i will have to open an account in dubai to get my wages transferred into..

Really i am a little confused, could anyone advise on the best policy

I transfered my doe off shore (whilst working in Dubai) and use a visa from that account for everything in the UK. You'll be subject to tax if you transfer it into a UK based account. As you are with the off-shore but it's harder for the govt. to track.
