Are these boards monitored ? Do UAE authorities monitor all internet activities throughout the country ?

Does du or etislat sniff out all internet packets ? are VPN's effective ? what about TOR ?

Which one of you regulars are with the authority ?

The TRA has packet sniffing technology and probably one or two staff who know how to use it. They have access to Yahoo Mail & Hotmail but not yet Gmail (but perhaps that has changed in the last 12 months). They use a UK based Software Co to do the scans and it is done on the fly - its a combination of keyword search and more importantly contextual inference ...
