I do talk from experience and the experiences of friends of mine. One the trust has gone, it's very very hard to get it back. There are reasons why men or women cheat. Some people just aren't meant to be in monogamous relationships.

Chocs, what am I assuming? That you are not married? I think you have made reference to that on the forum, haven't you? I am assuming you have a German boy friend who is handy, I could be wrong. When I said 'there speaks the voice of an unmarried person', I was refering to the fact that there is a whole lot more to consider when ending a marriage than your husband/wife having a mad moment. If married couples have children, a mortgage and a history together, would you jump in and dump them without a second thought? I wouldn't. Before you come in and say my husband probably cheated on me, I can say, that as far as I know, he didn't and I am sure he would have mentioned it during our rather messy divorce.

Back ON topic! As I said there are many reasons why people cheat. But can you honestly get the trust back once it's gone? I know I can't so it's adios.

I know some people who would take their other half back after they've strayed, but the relationship has never been the same afterwards.

Did I miss something? I don't think it went off topic, all about cheating here.

I know what you are saying BM. Its a difficult one and when I said I would be an A - I was shooting from the heart rather than the head. You are absolutely right that it might be throwing too much away for a moment of madness and maybe if/when the times comes I would try and get over it (as there is a kid involved) but the immediate thought is to say adios.

Children are very receptive. Staying together for the sake of a child is not the right answer, plus later on the children can feel guilty because of it.

Yes, things have to thought thro' at times like this. It is very easy to make the wrong decision when you have been badly hurt. Best to leave it a while and see if things can be worked out, than make the wrong decision, whatever it may be, and regret it.
Chocs, I wouldn't recommend anyone staying together for the sake of a child. What i'm saying is that all things have to be considered. Some people can rise above their partners mistakes and go on to have very happy lives, some can't. I still say there are worse things that can happen to you than your partner playing away.

Oh ! and I thought we were talking about the TV show with all the recent talk of shows from joes.

If it is something resembling a ONS, no problemo. When feelings would come to the fore though, it would be a completely different story.

On the last one I agree it was bound to happen - you can't blame the girl for moving on and servicing the next customer

I might be very faithful.. and then suddenly cheat.. but not for the sake of cheating it is just sometimes a human being is weak towards temptations ... so i could regret and never ever cheat again.. i think it differs from a person to another person.. i believe the most faithful guy or girl in the world could cheat in some tempting situations.. BUT if a some one is caught cheating u better leave him or her. becoz there will be no trust anymore, and you will keep recalling it in your mind whenever any small thing happens.. u will simply live in HELL

I'd choose another option... Ask if I can have someone on the side too!

"Tit for Tat" principles is a bad idea to practice in relationships, things will get real ugly real fast !, someone has to throw in the towel if one ever hopes to cover any ground.
