I'm surprised I didn't find places offering camel meat. In my visits to Kenya I was able to get it, and it tasted very nice!

Any places that spring to mind that offer it?

I noticed Emirati's promote Camel meet, but don't actually eat it.

I have seen Camel milk in the supermarkets but not meat. Have you tried Union Corp - I hear thats where the locals go and you might find some there but I don't personally know. Let us know if you find some and where Bruce - its not something that I have wanted to try but as they say don't knock it until...

There is a market in Falaj Al Moula that sells fresh camel meat and pretty cheap too.

Well Herve, I don't know any that do. My local friend eats fish mostly, lamb and Subways. I can't stand fish myself. My friend came out with a classic one day. We were talking about how women age and I said you can always tell a woman's age by her hands. Have you noticed with some white women how they get brownish spots on the back of their hands as they get older? Well my local friend (bless him) said that the brown marks are caused by eating pork. I nearly choked on my bacon butty.

Bastikiya Cafe in Bur Dubai sells genuine camel meat burgers. Not bad at all!

Camel meat looks and tastes like a bland version of pork.

If they utilised that marketing strategy there might be some muslims that feel like trying it.....is there a version of camel bacon?

Not quite a delicacy.

However, it's much more popular among the " pure tribal" Arab Emiritis.

I've eaten it at local weddings and desert outings with local friends. It's not bad at all (a bit tough though).

I'm told it's the healthiest red meat around (with the least amount of fat....!!!!)

I didn't find Camel Meat in big stores as well... however, i guess you may able to find some meat after EID next month as Muslim sacrifice animals on this EID. Ask any Muslim friend for the details
