Can someone give me some honest adivice? Feb 28, 2006
Hi

I need some honest advice that would be appreciated very much so, i leaft dubai a week ago after a stop off for a week on my way home to the Uk from Thailand and i have absolutley fallen in love with Dubai and i want to come and work there indefinatley. I graduated in june last year with degree in Business and Management Studies, i have had various jobs while studying over the last 6 years.

My ambitioin is to build a successful career in bar management, having been a Bar attendant which included some supervisory responsibilities on some occasions when the manager had to leave the establishment, however it was only a small amount of experiance. Does anyone know what the training and career progression prospects are like in dubai for a UK graduate? Saying i applied for a bar attendants job with the determination to become a supervisor or manager in the near future would this be a realistic approach to take?

ofcourse.. i think thats being quite realistic... u'd get ur kinda job pretty easily..

since dxb is booming with hotels.. im sure they r always in need of hotel staff.. even with new bars n clubs comin up every now n then...

besids... u have to get promoted some time rite.. to progress in general... else u can be sure ur not doin it right!

good luck

I hate when people call " UK graduate" . It doesnt mean that other countries have lower standard of education .UK has 1000s of no name schools . If you go at Oxford street , u ll find 100 of schools :P

It doesnt mean that all UK schools are like London Business school and London school of economic .

. I think the best education in hotel management is delivered in SWISS land or in France

Thanks for your replys guys very much appreciated!

Also.......

The statement 'uk graduate' is simply to find out if companies are employing graduates from outside the UAE, as there doesn't seem to be much posted on the web for such positions!
Not that other countries have a lower standard of education!! :) I am in total agreeance with that one!
