My name is Ajahn Dhamma I'm an Australian Buddhist Monk of 17 years

i just posted a note in the new members section and saw this section on religion so i thought to post a few words here too.

. My question is Buddhism accepted and if i come would anyone be interested in listing to a few talks on Buddhism and instructions in Buddhist mediation
.
I thought of coming in early December to around 20th 2010.
Any way just to put the feelers out to see if any expats or locals would be interested ,

Firstly welcome.

I'm no longer in Dubai, so wouldn't be able to come to any talk - but certainly would be more than happy to read through anything you'd like to discuss around Buddhism and meditation etc.

I believe that Buddha was a prophet of God and have read up on his sayings and philosophy of life. I do believe Buddha's concept of God is as per other religions - but I also understand that Buddhists generally have a different view these days (but there are different schools of thought within Buddhism).

Are you following a particular form of Buddhism?

I'm still a little unsure of how a Buddhist Monk will be received by the local indigenous folk.

Yes there are some very and vast views on all matters that make up this world as we know it today,
most important is never too look down on anothers view in religion as it only defeats the reason we have faith in .....
I'm from the Theravadin school which is meaning the teaching of the elders in Buddhism ( yes as there are many different schools so many takes on what the Buddha actually taught).
As a westerner this was apparent and so with lots of cross referencing of the major schools i chose Theravadin ( as it is stated that nothing or very little has changed over the 2553 years).
anyway im open to criticism for anything i say or do.
