I found this site interesting, every user can rank the movies they have watched. Then they can share their movie taste with others, the most intersting part is, the website will calculate what score u will give to the movies u have not watched yet, based on ur ranking history.

so based on PSIs, below is list of 10 movies which I would give a good rank and I havent watched any of them yet, have u seen any of them?

I saw only "The Wrestler" after Speedie's recomendation. Very impressive film.

By the way I always wanted to know your opinion about "Time of the Gypsies" (1988)

Yeah its a decent site, only problem is I've watched everything that is recomended. Hmm.. can happen if your a big movie fan from the age of 8

Yea I heard abt the "wrestler", but havent watched it yet, will put in the download list!

The other movie,"Time of the Gypsies" , unfortunately havent watched it either! So I shall tell my opinion later

DD it will recommend movies based on ur taste, which u havent seen yet, because u didnt rank them. Did u check that out? Seriously you couldent watched aaallll of them!

I understand that the movie I gonna see in the first turn is "Amelie". I personaly know people who start studing French because of the movie. By the way it helped them in immigration to Canada.

He-he it appeares that my taste is the most close to a few people from Istanbul, Turkey. It's exactly in the middle between Moscow and Dubai.


As for IMDB and rotten tomatoes in my view it's less useful sites because of very rough averaging.

Rates on tomatoes.com arent always the best honestly.

That movie was really GOOD!
Actually I like Audrey Tautou's performance as an actress.

If you got the chance and time, I'd recommend both you and Melika to watch a movie called "Priceless", also staring Audrey Tautou.

Yeah the amount of movies I have seen will probaly take me a couple of years to fill it in. Remember our family bussiness from when I was around 5 was a Video rental place in shj. In fact one of the first ones here. So yes I have seen A LOT of movies.

And I've got very shallow taste, not into artsy fartsy, indie or chick flicks, so not a very big problem. For example I hate mind fcuk movies like inception.

Loved the wrestler. One of my all time favorites. Also loved Crazy Heart. I noticed my taste changed from action/thriller/scifi to drama.

Not realy. I am very busy busy busy in commiting the same crime with other belle: candles, French wine and French film between the first and the second... Anyway, Dude, you cannot understand. Don't even try...

Crazy Heart was indeed awesome especially if ur a fan of good country music.

Talking abt french movies, reminds me I always wanted to review Kieslowski's triology and "double life of Veronique". I watched them like 8 years ago and I m sure they would bw more interesting now!

well I m not sure if Kieslowski's movies are categorized as french or not, as he was Polish!

... thats an interesting question, Francophonic movies with non-French directors. Like those Algerians and Moroccon directors who direct movies in French language sometimes.

Say I was a Japanese director who made a movie with English language spoken in it, would it be counted as a Japanese movie or ..??

Nope it would be english. Hong kong director Jon Woo has directed a few hollywood movies and they were not considered as chinese . So have Luc Besson and Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Out of the 18 movies listed here only The Castle of Cagliostro and There will be blood is deemed watchable and further applying my filter turns out The Castle of Cagliostro is a animated movie, not my fav genere and a chick flick on top. And I always knew there will be blood was a watchable movie so no big surprises there, just never got around to it.

So for me, no good

hmmm well I used to think that french movies are more a genre than a language, but anayway i m not sure.

And now I'm getting even further spoiled for choice, even standard def DVD's wont cut it for me or even 720p HD. It has to be 1080p or nothing !

Abusing technology for pleasure feels good

Now I'm a bit ticked off, couldn't watch the expendables at the theaters so just a poorly encoded russian blu ray version. Should have just waited for the official Blu Ray version to come out.

Made my self watch 10 mins of the DVD version to feel a bit better. It did the trick.
