Over the holiday I lost my mobile phone - I loose them frequently

I've been thinking of getting a differnt type of phone (can't tell you what I had - can, but wont )

What would you recommend? From your own experience.

BTW no blingy stuff and nothing over $500 (see above, it won't last!)

No issues with network/locked/unlocked I have a "special" sim..

The new Samsung Galaxy is kicking butt apparently.

Just got a Samsung, the dual chip feature is very handy.

whatever you do dont go for iphone, htc or samsung!

if you want a TRUE phone go for nokia or ericsson these guys have been in the market for god knows how long and they still make quality mobiles!!!

i tend to drop my mobiles alot and i have damaged htc and iphone but now I have got the 8800 from Nokia and that thing is rock solid and it was round 1000dhs or so!

There’s not a lot to choose between the top 5 or so combined PDA, Communication devices, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but for weekend and travelling, whether for business or leisure I use an old Nokia 6600 series telephone, small and light, does everything you need a telephone to do, when it suits you, and most importantly tends to follow you around when inadvertently left behind!

Only have very bad experiences with it. Can you use them now simultaneous or do you still have to switch between the two?

Just bought my son a Sony Ericsson XP10 Mini Pro, slide out querty keyboard etc

Lovely bit of kit but and i would guess around the 1000/1200 dh in Carrefour.

Had a Nokia for the past 6 months, then the damn screen goes blank, its a real pain, cant get into get the information stored, also had an Erikson gave me loads of problems.
Lets see how th Samsung does, so far so good.

I've been using HTC's since 03/04 and never had any problems and with stood quite a beating in my job ( Desert Safari Guide ). Had a car roll over one a was found a day later buried in sand still ticking, used it for more than a year after that aswell.

Currently using a second had HTC diamond got it over from Canada last year for under 150 CAD.

It has been suggested that the following would be good.

1. Samsung Epic 4G
2. HTC Evo 4G
3. Motorola Droid X
4. Motorola Droid 2
5. Blackberry Torch

It has also been suggested that I buy one of each as they don't last long in my hands...

Blackberry would be a waste if the services did go down on the proposed date, other than that rest are all decent and depends on your personal choice, go give each one a try at the stores and see which one you like.

I have a friend in Canada who works for RIM and last I heard from him ( when this intialy started ) it didn't look so good. So maybe just a little bit, whats the latest I dunno and not really bothered as I don't have a BB or thought of getting one in the near future.

I suggest two baked bean tins and a length of string.

Tie one bit to your belt and you will stop losing the newly made phone.

Silly question possibly, but wouldn't the beans fall in your ears?

I forgot for the few thickos who may use this method.

Dont open the tins as the sharp edges may make you a Van Gough lookalike. The sound may be muffled but better than a Du line.
