Kinda hard to work out based on the usual things as Salik makes this an unexact science. Suggest you look at a selection of 3 vehicles, their purchase and service costs, engine size and average kmpg fuel consumption, cost of gas per litre, insurance costs and then consider where the owner might live and how many Salik gates they may pass per day.

Average this out over 222 working days in the year and that should give you an approximate figure.

Hope that helps?

Ah yes...I forget, girls don't really do cars!

OK, take a single popular make such as Toyota.

They have models right through the range from the Yaris, and the Corolla to the Camry (taxis), small sport 'soft roader's such as the Rav 4, to the Prado and finally the Landcruiser. There are lots of others in between but these are the basic ones. They also have an upmarket Lexus range...which are based on some of the above but with higher specifications of trim etc.

So you get the info from Al Futtaim (Toyota and Lexus distributor) on the costs for a representative 3 vehicles. Suggest the Yaris, the Camry and the Prado. This gives you a small compact budget car, a regular family car and a small 4x4/large family vehicle. Cost of purchase (over 36 months) cost of insurance, fuel consumption and service costs are all available from the sales staff. (add an additional AED 5000 for tyres and consumable items at service)

After that, draw a series of concentric circles on a Dubai map centered around your office, every 5 kms. Zone these 1 - whatever and work out how many Salik gates someone living in each zone would need to cross to get to work. Don't forget that if you pass through 2 consecutive gates within a certain period, there is only 1 4Dh charge! It also gives you an average number of kms each person should travel daily to get to work.

After that, the calculation is pretty straight forward.

Best of luck sweetie!
