Re: Salary In Dubai, Is That Good, Bad, Average?
Jun 10, 2010
When you convert it to the currency in your own country how does that compare?
Your total salary would be 15,000AED. Factor in the cost of renting an apartment. With that allowance you can only hope to get a studio in a decent area (stay away from International City!) and you would probably have to add to the allowance they are providing. You will also have to furnish the apartment at your own expense. (If you have furniture maybe you can negotiate with your employer to get them to provide a shipping allowance to get your furnishings here.) Then there is a couple hundred plus AED each month for utilities, phone, internet, petrol. More than likely you would need a car - the market is flooded with second hand cars so factor in annual car insurance.
It is possible to get along on that salary, but then again it depends on what kind of lifestyle you are accustomed to. If you are an actively social person - clubs, restaurants and activities - you have to take the cost into consideration.
Oh, and you probably want to eat - food can be costly, depending on what you generally eat.
I'm sure you will get other responses from members who can give you a bit more information.
Good luck to you.
