Hi there
My name is Dhanveer and i am new to this forum.Originally from India,mumbai i was in Florida doing my Masters in Engineering.
Now i am in Dubai looking for some job opportunities,but seems the situation is pretty bad here too.

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any import duty on watches brought from the Us.
I want to ship a watch,thorough a friend in the US, to Dubai, a Tag heuer but i was told that the watch will be confiscated at the customs. Is that true?
Can i ship it as a gift, as it is being sent by my friend to Dubai.( to avoid customs,if any)

Worst case scenario is that you will be asked to pay import duty, which is 5% of the declared value. Doesn't matter if it is a gift, new, second hand, or whatever.
