My bank in Dubai wants to charge up to 600 Dhs to pay a UK cheque into my account
and I have several to do !

They say they have to send I to the UK first

Anyone had the same problem and can recommend something ?

In the past I had to deposit several checks issued in the States and the bank charged a whopping fee for each check, but no where near 600AED (each check).

Suggest that if you have an account back in the UK deposit those checks into that account then do online banking; transfer money into your Dubai account, if possible. There may be online charges, but no where what you would be paying in Dubai. Or, from the UK account, withdraw money using your ATM card in Dubai.

There are all the same

I pay 50 dhs for a US$ check to be credited to my UAE bank account. It takes 2 weeks to get sent to USA and funds to be credited.

Can I ask which bank in the UAE you deal with? I was dealing with HSBC. They told me that I could use my ATM card internationally, specifically the US, which was not the case!!!

Thats very good ! may I ask which bank please as it may be that price for UK ones?
