I moved to Dubai 3 months ago. One of the biggest problems I had was using Skype. I could not use Skype for long time. Then a friend of mine told be about VPN. With VPN you can access to Skype with no problems. I am using http://www.vpnmaster.com and I am only paying $3.95/month for this service.

Well done! So you post the address of a VPN on an open forum where the authorities can see it and therefore take steps to block it!

If you have already installed skype elsewhere then you can use it here for PC - PC skyping, but not from skype to phone calls.

Many VPN's are blocked here, you just added another one to the list. DOH!

There has been moves afoot amonst the UAE Government to begin to allow VoIP to be used legally. If you run a search on GulfNews.com for VoIP you'll find a few articles explaining that Etisalat and du are planning to roll out VoIP soon.

Why bother when most people are already using skype.
