hi guys (mods, do me a favor please, don't move this thread. thank you)

my boss is stuck in oslo with 2 kids. he needs to get back to dubai asap. at this point any class and any travel method is fine ( can be train, boat, bus, whatever). our admin girl has failed so far to find a way to get him to dubai, so I figured a drop a note here. if you guys can recommend a travel agent that is super good and persistent in finding a solution, I'd appreciate it a lot

Way things are looking at the moment he better start walking, the number of flights cancelled in Europe is almost reaching 200,000 just beyond ones imagination.

His best bet would be to rent a car (if available) and drive to Germany via Sweden and Denmark. Go south and hope flights by that time are allowed again from Frankfurt or Munich. Otherwise drive further south to Milan. Hell of a trip. Its a gamble though, by that times filghts might be operating from Oslo again.

I have heard different estimates how long this situation might continue. Days, weeks or months...

This article mentions someone who was driven from Oslo to Paris!!! Seems the taxis are doing a brisk business during this crisis.

Airports in Turkey are open, so from there it's straight to Dubai.

Nevermind the wind mostly coming from North-West!!!

Prevailing wind direction from Oslo for a balloon, would take him to Moscow. From there he can hire a Zil limousine to drive him to Odessa, a boat across the Black Sea and catch the next Emirates flight from Istanbul.

Alternatively, he could wait another 24 hours as they are apparently about to start flights again. Tell him to go back to the bar!
