United ? Kingdom Abroad ? Nov 12, 2009
So whoever said English folk always get along well when they are abroad.

I have seen far too many instances of the contrary in Dubai.

Moreover, dubaiforums seems to be a reflection of this. With Speedhump (Long time Dubai advocate) and red kite (nuff said on that one), gone, it seems I see a correlation.

Okay I’m feeling like a little vulnerable butterfly right now because I have flapped my wings and may have accelerated a female Cockney tornado coming my way :lol:

~~~~
PS
Butterfly Effect: Note: Trippy Shit. The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado by accelerating a tornado in a certain location. The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale alterations of events. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.
C'mon....That's not really true!
It wasn't Brits against Brits!
The Mods have also taken action against other non-British posters!!
Moreover, I understand that SH and Redkite are not permanently banned! But they, themselves, chose to go away, even after their temporary ban was lifted!
By the way,....why this post now?
Let the sleeping dog lie!
And let's just move on!!!!
OMG someone is being so presumptuous!
When did I ever mention, this post is some sort of petition for "Power Abuse against One own country man"
I was merely making a correlation of my experience seeing Brits interact in Dubai and in this forum. It's not always honky dory and I would never believe anyone saying "brits stick out for themselves". Sure having casual pints and talking about days yonder is something divorced from friendship for many. It's just a ritual after work of sorts :lol:
Don't change the post's intention. However if you have old memoirs from your plethora of friends, of catfights and bar fights between British citizens in UAE, do share.
I suggest that you go back and read your own post! Because that's exactly what you insinuate!
I’ve been around a lot of Brits abroad (too many sometimes for my liking! :)), plus I also go to the UK quite frequently.....
I can honestly say that I have not noticed they are particularly more hostile to each other when they are abroad.
Yeah…. you have the usual quarrels, in pubs and at football matches, and also the usual jealousies -- socially and at the work place, but nothing really more than what happens with other nationalities!
I could be wrong…but that’s my own personal view!!
Now now missy thou shall not play the over-sensitive card.
My butterfly effect simile was hilarious I thought. And so did Sage and Onion the esoteric and stoic millionaire (in dirhams terms at least)He has like 14k posts and way more street credit in my books than you could ever have. I’m not taking sides; I’m just stating the obvious.
Though he gets very mono-syllabic with one sentence phrases akin to a Parkinson on a bad show night needing his Viagra and subsequently just sticks to affirmations to carry on the conversation. :lol:
Be gone to reflect and ponder thy actions mere child and get thee to a nunnery coz you are in the uae. Shitza that’s guten RAP (rhythm and poetry)
