Any recommended dealers?

Are prices here comparable to Europe/US?

How are warranties typically serviced? In country, or out?

Will I have to pay import duties if I buy online and have a camera shipped to me in the UAE from overseas?

Better to wait and buy on my next trip out?

Sharaf DG offers Pentax cameras but they don't have the K-m/K2000. They only have the K20D & K200D.

Yes, I think the minimum is $2000.

You could, but you might run the risk of not having any warranty over here, and/or your camera being shipped to the country you've bought it for repair.

That's the most I can help you with, as i'm not knowledgeable with Pentaxes. You could use google for better info.

Pentax is rare here, unless you buy/bring all the gears from outside.
Canon, Nikon (by GrandStores), and Sony (by Jumbo) are the most popular. Sigma (by MK Trading) is there as well though rare as well.

Custom tax is 5% (from the last time I bought underwater camera + strobe from US).

Al Falak (City Centre) may offer a bit cheaper than the market (get the market price from Carrefour/Sharaf then do bargain), though many are grey/imported products. Last time I bought Sony A700 body only from them as others (esp Jumbo) sell only kit. Though it's grey product and only offered shop warranty, I never had any problem with the product.

Prices here are generally slightly more expensive.

i think Sharaf, Plug ins and CompuMe in MOE...these are usually the best
