an employer asks me to forward my passport copy even before an interview. he says its for visa formalities.
should i beware of something here ? am i being made a fool of ?

where are you located as of now? and how the interview will be conducted? are you currently working in dubai?

it's not common to have passport copy before an interview, unless you're out of dubai and being asked to come to dubai for the interview and you need a visa (transit/tourist/visit) to come. if you got a passport from special countries (US/CA/EU/...), then mostly you don't need visa (or get visa on arrival).

on long shot, probably they want to check if you're blacklisted or having criminal records?

Before I was flown out for an interview, my prospective employer asked for a scaned copy for a transit visa as I remember. Nothing was send in post before my arrival, just had my passport stamped at the airport.
