Who in their right minds will want to blow up a plane mid air? How does one get so radical? Brit born and raised, the police there need to understand what brought about this radicalization process.

Life Terms for Plot to Bomb Trans-Atlantic Flights From London

A High Court judge on Monday imposed minimum prison terms of 32 to 40 years on three men convicted last week, after two trials, of plotting to smuggle liquid explosives onto at least seven trans-Atlantic airliners heading to the United States and Canada from London, with the aim of blowing the aircraft apart in midair.

The same minds that want to navigate planes into buildings.

Yaa but these guys are home bred. The 9/11 bombers came from elsewhere, these are Brit citizens.

And these Brit home based terorist mean business, the last foiled plot was the discovery of a Merc laden with powerful explosives outside a nightclub.
These guys are educated and are always innovating, eventually they will break through the police net.
As I said earlier the sooner the cops find out what's driving the angst the better.

On 'Dateline London' this week one of the journalists - a Brit - made the following comment..

'we have to recognise the fact that there will be some adolescent boys that go off-the-rails. Some join neo-nazi groups and some make martyrdom videos. I feel sorry for them..'

I thought that was quite insightful and puts the issue into context.

It reminded me of the old adage (from the Bible, IIRC) - 'there's nothing new under the sun'!
