Hi guys.

I wanted to enquire if anyone else has subscribed to DU Showtime within the Marina Area.

They use IP-TV to transmit the TV signal and have supplied a Motorola VIP 1510 STB (Set Top Box).

The problem is, the video Output of this box is the basic RCA or Composite output (Yellow, Red, White) and this is quite a poor signal for an LCD TV.

I wanted to find out, if anyone else has an IP-TV Set Top Box with higher quality Video output (like Component - Ycr, etc or HDMI)...

I have researched on Motorlas site and apparently they do manufacture better STB. One of them is the VIP 1550 (with Component output).

- Does Du Supply better STB for IPTV ?
- If not, are there IPTV STB available to buy in Dubai, with higher quality video output?

Hi, I know this is a bit late as you posted this over 9 months ago. I don't have an answer for you but would like to know if you ever found another STB. I live in JBR and received the same motorolla box as you which is painfully slow. I would like to upgrade if possible, but I have been told by DU that they don't offer an alternative.

Did you ever find a solution to your problem and if so where did you get the alternative box.

I heard Du will be implementing Personal Video recording STBs with HDMI support (Microsoft PVRs) for customers.I know the STB personally and hve digital clarity and high reso.Hope they r n last phase will deploy soon.
