I can't help but smile looking at that map representation of the Philippines.
Despite it being such a small country, it seems to be the only country with a Western, Sinic and Islamic influence.

Does that mean the filipinos is the only true global citizen of the world? LOL

Well, since the Filipino women sing all day long, I think they do feel at home almost everywhere. Perhaps the most globalised country in the world>?

I don't know. Just decide for yourself;
Seems they have a history of secularity imposed by influence of Spain and 11% are overseas Filipino with 8% of the Republic being expat. So, thats quite global indeed.

"In the 1700s, the Philippines opened its forts to world trade. The economy increased, and both criollos, and mestizos in the Philippines became wealthy. In the 1800s, the Suez Canal was opened, dramatically reducing travel time between Spain and the Philippines. The influx of Spaniards secularized churches, and government positions traditionally held by the criollos. The ideals of revolution began to spread to the Philippines."

Ethnic Groups / Cultural Diversity:
"Most Filipinos are an Asian ethnic group known as the Austronesian. A group of Malayo Polynesian-speaking peoples, a branch of the Austronesian-speaking peoples, that migrated to the Philippines thousands of years ago from Taiwan, and brought their knowledge of agriculture, and ocean-sailing technology. Among the various Philippine ethnic groups descended from them are the Visayans, the Tagalog, the Ilocano, the Moro, the Kapampangan, the Bicolano, the Pangasinense, the Igorot, the Lumad, the Mangyan, the Ibanag, the Badjao, the Ivatan, and the Palawan tribes. The Negritos, Aetas, and the Ati, are considered the aboriginal inhabitants of the Philippines, and are estimated to number around 30,000 people (0.03%)."

"Other Filipino ethnic groups include Chinese, Spaniards, and Americans."

"Other foreign immigrants include British, European, Japanese, Korean, Arab, Asian Indian, Indonesian, and other ethnic groups."

"Throughout Philippine history, various people of different races, and nationalities have intermarried with various Philippine ethnic groups. Their descendants are known as mestizos. The official population, and percentage of all types of mixed blood individuals living in the Philippines remain unknown."

They look to me as a very open society. As some on this forum have already said, that Filipino people are very warm people, I think this openess to other cultures and influences made them so succesful in the global market. They seem to have a hard working mentality just like the Chinese. Both competitive people.

I think its a country worth visiting one day. To say the least.

That was awesome, Colonel Blimp!

Such a shame that Colonel Blimps ruled your world while your father was alive...I know you hate it and can't live it down. Meantime the world has taken shape without Russia ever getting a grip on it, despite all your manoeuvrings. Still though, you export gas, thugs and whores, that's some overseas income I guess....

You know, once again you started a sh*tslinging contest. You ignored my nice reply to your post about Japanese and Koreans. You REALLY do have a massive problem with your vs. my status in the world, don't you?

You only want an argument, don't you. So let's go for it, I'll have a ball. Lets go toe to toe in fightclub, babyface, I will crush you if that's what you need? Let's reinforce your inferiority complex to the max, what do you say? :D

I am so happy with my place in this world..I kind of get the feeling that you have some discomfort with yours. So who do you think would win?

Come on, bend over boy, you probably did it in the gymnasium before.....
