Are there any decent yet economical budget hotels in Abu Dhabi? Basically I'm only looking for a simple and clean room hopefully with reasonable rates.
Any suggestions / recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm not the best person to comment on this, since I live in Dubai. But had one experience last month which I had to stay in Abu Dhabi overnight. There is a Motel right across Al Shafa hospital. I think it's called Gava or Gafa ... not sure. The rate was 580 and great basic service. very clean, excellent if you are not into hotel luxuries.
