Another good Franch romantic movie is "Masculin Féminin" from Jean-Luc Godard.

As for Greenway I like "Drowning by Numbers", a little bit weird..

"Last tango in Paris" is also good...

I just remembered another Greenaway film I didn't see for a long time, A Zed and Two Noughts. It's more about finding a way to cope with the tragedy of grief after loss than about romance, but it's an incredible film.

Mambo Kings is far from the best movie I've ever seen but I really liked the love story angle.

Hey! whats wrong with a cyborg or a soldier giving all he has, even his life just to protec her love interest (the leading lady). That amids all the conflict love still blooms. devils advocate....the story revolves around some issue
but both actor and actress are so passionate and romantic...it was awesome
