Big Brother star Jade Goody has lost her battle with cervical cancer and died in the early hours of this morning.

Whatever you might think of Jade, I say fair play to her for highlighting such a horrid disease that took her life at the tender age of 27, and I hope that the age of screening women for it is drastically reduced.

Jade has proved that this form of cancer, known as the silent killer, as it's very often diagnosed far too late to be treated, will attack women of any age.
