After only a week of driving in the city, I’m now not so sure that Dubai is a safe place to be;

A bag with personal belongings was nicked from the back sit of the car by a porter who parks cars of customers eat in this particular restaurant –the incident is being investigated by the restaurant management - Dubai

I was questioned by the police about my car parked outside friend’s house –Sharjah-
(Apparently “peaceful” neighbors saw a light haired, white female parking who they didn’t know)

A car driving behind me at night on a ring road –in the last heavy rain- thought could take me over where he/she almost had an accident right behind me..!! – I’m still shaky.. –Dubai-

A van driver of DHL claimed that I bumped into the van while reversing which wasn’t the truth, and kept nagging for no reason.. he took off when i actually called the police.. –Dubai-

Petty crime is on the increase.

They may have thought you were 'Russian' and had brought your dubious morals to the neighbourhood.

Frankly speaking I think you have been unlucky so far, all what you describe has not happened to me in the last 17 years
