ha, what a working day, almost done in about 2 hours...
why is all about bad/good dubai, who cares? that doesn't really help any of us (local/Expat).

its a 2007 documentry by abc news abt how construction workers in dubai are exploited.,.

DU hasn't really configured their servers to block the ports being used by skype... although they started censoring sites that features nudity, violence and other stuff that "offends" the ideals of a Muslim country...

So what? People going to work in Dubai. Everyone gets what he (she) could does. It is THEIR CHOICE (asian expats) who came ot build a better world. They had ability to stay at home. They comes to work primary. Or.... do you realy believe they didn't knew about those problems from previously workers or mass media?

You over-estimate the reach of mass media and previous workers coming across each other in Indian-Sub countries whose populations total almost 2 billion.

Yes, for sure. In my home country I could see similar work force from Asia, who came with same reason and lives like animals in cages.
It is Capitalism anyway, so what we want?

The level of literacy in this sector is not so high and penetration of tv is low. It is unlikely they would have been exposed to any negative media stories.
