President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns the death of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, His Highness Shaikh Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Mualla, who passed away Friday morning in London.

A week long state of mourning has been declared during which flag will fly at half mast, while all ministries and other government departments and institutions will close for three days beginning from Friday.

Special prayers will be performed on the remains of the late Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmad Al Mualla on Saturday, January 3, soon after the "Asr" evening prayers at the Grand Mosque in Umm Al Quiwain.

His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quiwain, shall receive at his palace condolences for three days, beginning from tomorrow, Saturday.

The horse race meeting at Jebel Ali on Friday was cancelled as a mark of respect.
