Hi,
I will be visiting my family in Dubai in about a week, after which I would be leaving for Pakistan. Since my Computer is very Old, I bought some new Parts here in New York, USA and wish to take them with me to Dubai. Would there be any duty that I would have to pay in Dubai?

depends on how you ship them. if you bring a few odds and ends in your luggage they will probably not bother.
if you ship them by post, courier or unaccompanied baggage then they are entitled to ask for 5% (which is the standard import tarriff).

keep the invoices with you incase, but i have never had any problems bringing in odd and ends in my luggage in the past.

I am bringing almost a full system by pieces with me.

2 x Laptops
1 x Core i7 Processor
1 x Motherboard
1 x Ram
1 x Video Card
1 x Power Supply


Lets see, if the Tariff is 5% than I guess even if they charge me, it is bearable.
