Status of my Visa. Nov 24, 2008
Dear All,

I was working with a company in Dubai for the last six years and i had resigned my job last month and my Visa got cancelled last week.
I can stay here for one month from the Visa cancellation Date.
I was having dubai Visa and worked in Jebel Ali.
My designation on the Visa was Shipping Co-Ordinator.

How do i know whether i have a Ban on my visa or not?
If i have a ban and If i get a job in dubai, how i can i handle this situation? Is there any way i can avoid the ban and join a new company (if the company's Visa also in dubai).

Can anyone please help me on these?

Thanks.
JH.

yes, you would get the ban unless your old employer provided you with a Certificate of No Objection. You would have to have asked him to do this as it is not normal to simply give an employee one.

If your residency visa has been cancelled already then the ban is already in effect and there is nothing you can do about it. You should have tried to transfer your labour and residency before they cancelled the card and visa!

No, I’m afraid not.

In the past there was a "fine" that could be paid to lift the ban, but this has been removed.

In order not to be banned all of the following conditions have to be met:

You have to have a NOC from your current employer.
You have to have a written offer of employment from a new employer.
You must have worked for the old employer for at least 1 continuous calendar year.
You must be employed under an “unlimited” contract. Breaking a “limited” contract results in an automatic ban.
You must be transferring to the same category of job as what you currently hold.
