New Rule for Vehicle Passing/Ownership Nov 20, 2008
Hi,
I've heard that from 2009,the vehicles older than 15 years will not be passed and will not be allowed to run on the Dubai roads. The transfer will also be not possible. Is it true? What is the full story behind it?

And also it will be applicable only in Dubai or all over in the UAE?

Plz brief me about it.

thanks

Not exactly. From next year cars over 10 years old cannot transfer ownership. However they can be re-registered to the current owner. i.e. you can keep running it, but you can't sell it to someone else.

Thats the point: no.
The current owner cannot transfer it to you.
The rules are different for cars over 25 years old as these become classified as 'veteran' or 'collectors' cars.
