Hello all!
I'm coming over in january and was planning to work as a real estate agent/broker. I know the market isn't doing great, and someone studying with me right now was contemplating moving to Dubai as well. He wants to open up a real estate firm and wants me to be his partner (he's putting all the capital down). Would that be possible? I figured might as well start my own thing if the market is down. At least this way I'll get to keep the profits for the few sales I can get, instead of sharing them with my broker. I can operate with just me and him until things get better, then I could hire additional agents. How does setting up shop in Dubai work? Is it at all possible? I've heard of the free zones, but I'm not sure I could open a real estate brokerage firm there. Would there be an alternative? I have no intention of busting my *ss to open a company if I have to give 51% to someone who only has their name on the official papers!
