Yes.

And depends on your fault or not, the Color of the accident report sheet given to you is Green or Red. Green, the other party or their insurance pays for your and the other car's damage. Red, you or your insurance pays for your and the other car's damage.

Oh... I've never seen that. When would a fault be unknown? (Unless you are talking about the incompetence of the cops! :P)

..and who covers for the repair in the absence of a comprehensive insurance? The owner of the car that got bumped, I'm sure. And there goes the no-accident clause.

In the instance of a white copy, you normally have to pay the insurance excess if you actually claim. The white copy allows you to get the car repaired without claiming (to protect your no claims bonus) as all garages need an accident report before making a repair.

The rules are all different in Sharjah!

More 'basic'.

The policeman has the final say.
If a local hits you, its your fault.
If you hit a local, its your fault.
If you are Indian and you hit anyone, its your fault.

The one that made me open my eyes was the local who, when taken to court by the expat who he had hit, said:
"It is my country, if you had not come here, I would not have hit you!"
I think he won!

What do you think?

Have you guys noticed those skid marks along the inner-most lane of SZR? You won't miss them.. there's one every few meters and most of them leads to the center island. Amazing.

On average, how many road accidents do you witness in a day? I guess for me I see around 2-4 along SZR from DIC to Deira.

Well after finally arriving and being here now 4 days... I understand why so many do have a driver now LOL. I was considering one myself. One of my husband's friends had his driver pick us up to go out and it was great! Didn't have to drive and face the terror of the roundabouts or the DUI after we closed the club
