Employment Visa - Free Zone

Hi folks, how long does it take to process an employment visa if my employer is in the free zone? How long does it take to get the residency?

How long is a piece of string. Your employer should be able to give you time frames on that, seeing as they're the ones dealing with it.

remember during Ramadan, things take twice as long. You then normally have a 10 day public sector Eid holiday after that where all government and municipal offices are closed!

You mean work permit / labour card? That and residency would usually be processed together. Once documents get handed to relevant department, should be a couple of weeks (allow more for what dbx said). Slowness is more likely company's fault than visa office.
