UAE which emirate to choose? May 12, 2008
I have read this informative post http://www.dubaiforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=7769 About Abu Dhabi versus Dubai.

We are thinking of moving to the UAE or quatar with our 3 year old boy.

But with emirate to choose?

We will work both of us. I (the woman) need to find a new job (to day I am a teamleder in a danish pharmaceutical company). My boyfriend will bring his job with him, so he wants to be able to work in some kind of free zone.

Do any of you have some good advice for us?

i think the first thing you should rather address is the fact that you are not married, and as such you boyfriend can't sponsor you (or your son) to stay in the UAE (this includes qatar)

... you would have to find your own job and sponsorship. i would go for dubai though as the rules regarding co-habitting are less strictly enforced than they are AD.

Thanks

I can hear on your advice, that marriage would be a good idea. We can do that no problem. Is there a time limit on how long time you should have been married?

Can I sponsor my husbond?

no limit to the marriage.
my wife moved back to dubai with me a week after we were married, no problem with sponsoring her.

a woman may only sponsor her husband if she is in a very specialised job – this normally only applies to teachers and medical doctors.
