Hey Everyone, how are you all?

What is up with newspapers in UAE?
As many of you know, I'm seeking sponsorship to travel by foot from Dubai to London, none of the newspapers except 7days seemed to be interested.

I contacted Khaleej times, they asked me one question about three times. "Are you local?", they say they will call back, they contact me after a few days asking questions like they are interrogating me. I'm a bit confused. All im asking is to post an article without a pic so i can get sponsorship. I find it a bit strange.

When I called Gulfnews, they were least interested, all they ask me to do is "Send an email". Ok so i sent them one asking for a response whether they will post or not. They never get back at all.

The best response was from 7days, they were immediately interested and wanted to send somebody for the interview.

I find it really odd, nobody will lend a hand to make a humanitarian campaign successful.

UNICEF contacted me after the article on 7 days was published, they will support me. I asked them if they can atleast help in getting this thing into the media or reach large companies but they refuse to do any such thing.

I wish i can leave without sponsorship but VISA issues are my biggest concern.

Sorry to say Bsorc, while admirable - you are wasting your time (number of reasons for it).

Nevertheless, your "spirit" will still be needed in the new forum (see first announcement above) and guess what? We might be able (Insh Allah) to help your cause - but not right away.

By the way, I already have been contacted by 7 Days about the new forum...

In the meantime, study hard, work hard, and don't give up...

I have been told I'm wasting my time based on many reasons, but there are also number of reaons for me to take this journey.

Support from number of people like you concord have given me more strength

have you tried talking to papers in other countries you'll be passing through including london's papers?

Try getting a quote from some top company, even if they ar not sponsoring you. That might at least get you into the ass-kisser papers.

Its not just Khaleej Times, Gulfnews is same as well.
I wish i could just pack up and leave.
