Too Many

Besides the 17 usernames and passwords I have on DF I just realized I have at least 37 separate passwords that I need to use at least once a month and some daily (banks, utilities, computers, etc.). Kind of crazy. I have to have a file of "passwords" for which I also need a password (wait, that makes it 38!).

But I can't have just one...crazy crap!

I have one password for everything but have a number at the end of it that changes. It becomes easier.

All 18 of my usernames on DF have the same password.

this is one of many programs that store all your passwords and insert them when you need them. They store them encrypted and you only need to remember the one password that protects the file itself. Search for password management or password bank. For companies there is a thing called single-sign on where you put in one password and it should sign you in to all the company applications.

I'll give you a hint... phone numbers most of the time (but not the whole phone number) which is visible on the web page, like my internet banking.
No phone number, then they get a generic number.

Great idea.

I also like writing my pin numbers on my ATM cards, makes them much easier to remember.

I haven't checked but i am pretty sure they are stored on your computer locally and not on the internet.

You freaks! Why the hell would you have a cagillion usernames on DF? =/

But yeah having so many passwords really does suck. Worst is at work where we have to change it every few months. They are 3 different passwords that we have to change and we can't use the same password more than once. We should also have numbers and crap in them and it has to be at least 8 characters. Once of my passwords is actually one of the regular passwords that my friends uses (I use his Ebay account, that's why)

I have learned my lessons when setting the "remember me in this computer" using different passwords. It was convenient for me as I don't need to type username & password everytime I want to access sites and files, not until the computer crashed. I couldn't access a thing in other computers since I can't remember the passwords. :(

Now, I keep one alphanumeric passwords to everything except for internet banking. My DF password is kinda easy and anyone who knows me personally can log in. :) For office email, me & colleagues have one & only password but with different usernames. :D

do you work in the same company I work for? LOL

on my imate... I purchased a software which keeps everything you would imagine under one password... all my credit cards, ATM, Company Accounts, passport info, driving license, health club membership details, and many more... and by the time you always keep it updated... you end up having a data bank... and trust me... this tool saved me during many many situations... it is very organized.. and it syncs with my PC whenever I connect the mobile...

a wonderful software and great value for money

I cheat.

When I first started getting online a decade ago, I used the 14 digit serial number on my first printer.

From that moment on, I have use the same 14 characters, just shifted a letter to the right or left.

so it isn't too hard, but then again I am a number person who still remembers my best friend from 3rd grades phone number...
